During the July 25 board meeting at 6:30 PM (Hillsboro Civic Center, in the Shirley Huffman Auditorium: 150 E Main St, Hillsboro, OR 97123), our Commissioners will vote whether or not to donate land at 170th/Bany Rd to Luke-Dorf, for the Clover Court project (low-barrier housing for chronically homeless and severely mentally ill, with no on-site care). The public will have an opportunity to speak during the meeting. This is our LAST CHANCE to convince them that low-barrier housing (tenants cannot be screened for drug use or criminal behavior) across the street from an elementary school is not a good idea. Please attend and show the commissioners that a large group of citizens still opposes the project. If you can, wear yellow, so our group will stand out in the crowd.
A spokesperson from the Aloha Beaverton Neighborhood Association will provide testimony, but if any individuals from the neighborhood would like to speak as well, please let us know. There are strict rules regarding time limits, signing in before the meeting, and making sure to avoid repeating the same arguments as other speakers. We plan to coordinate talking points so our time will be spent most effectively.
If you wish to comment, but are unable to attend or do not wish to speak at the meeting, you are encouraged to email your concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org by 2 p.m. on July 25, 2017, to be included in the meeting record.
Also, if you haven’t already, please sign our petition, which will be delivered to the Commissioners prior to the board meeting:
